Jamshedpur-A tribal outfit of the Ho community today alleged that constitutional norms are being violated in Jharkhand.
“Constitutional guidelines under the 5th Schedule were meant to protect the interests of the tribal community but the norms were violated whether it was in mining sector, land acquisition or recently-held panchayat elections,” said Madhusudan Marla of ”Ho Samaj Mahasabha”.
“General candidates had contested the panchayate lections from reserved seats in violation of the guidelines of the Election Commission,” he alleged.
The tribal community was strongly against the government”s move to promote inter-caste marriage under section 77 of Panchayat Raj Act as non-tribals have been taking “advantage” of the law, he said.
The tribal leader claimed that tribals represent 70per cent in Kharswan constituency, where from Munda thrice since 1995 and will be seeking re-election in the by-election to enter the state Assembly within six months of his taking over the charge of chief minister”s post in September.
“We will be decisive factor in Kharswan and it is certain that no party would win election without our support,”Marla claimed.courtesyPTI.
