RANCHI: Heroic saga of Birsa Munda, Sido-Kanhu, Sheikah Bhikhari Thakur and other tribal freedom fighters along with valiant soldiers like Paramveer Albert Ekka is now available in cartoon books.
A Delhi-based publication company, Rajkamal, has come out with cartoon books which were released by chief minister Arjun Munda on Friday.
The programme was organized by the publishers at the central library of Ranchi University.
Anindita has written the content of the comic books on famous sons of Jharkhand and illustrator Gunjan Diwedi Malviya has made the stories come alive in pictures.
Each book is of 16 pages and priced at Rs 40. It depicts the story of the heroes from birth to martyrdom. Catchy titles like Veer Birsa, Sipahi Vidrohi Ke Sena Nayak Pandey Ganpat Rai, Jan Nayak Budhu Bhagat, Santhal Hul Ke Amar Balidani, Chhotanagpur Ka Veer Ahimsavaadi Jatra Bhagat are now available in stands.
Talking to the media after the book release, Anindita said nowadays children were hooked on to television or internet. “To get their attention, I have decided to write these stories about the contribution of the state’s heroes in a graphic format,” said Anindita adding that the books were written after immense research.Courtesy:TimesofIndia.
