‘O’ LEVEL COMPUTER TRAINING COURSE OF DOEACC SOCIETY SALIENT FEATURES OF THE SCHEME :
Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal is going to introduce a one year ‘O’ Level Computer Training Course of  DOEACC Societyunder the Ministry of Communications and IT, Govt. of India for the unemployed SC/ST youth for the year 2012-2013. The programme will be implemented by the B.C.W. Directorate through the selected agency namely, Institute of Computer Engineers (India)- ICEI having its head office at Chatterjee International Centre (12th Floor) 33A, Chowringhee Road, Kolkata-700071. The programme will be implemented in 14 Districts of the State and a total of 700 SC/ST candidates will be covered. The course will begin in June-2012. The main objective of the training course is to provide quality computer training to the SC/ST youth to accomplish success in the DOEACC examination and increase the scope of their employability.The Ministry of Human Resource Development Department, Govt. of India has recognized this course of DOEACC Society under Ministry of Communications & InformationTechnology, Govt. of India to be a Foundation Course for the purpose of employment for posts and services under Central Govt. About the Course: Duration – One year Time – Three days per week with one & half hours class every day i.e. 4 & ½ hours’ class
per week. Stipend – Rs.100/- per month to be paid to the students attending at least75% or more of the training classes.
Course fee – Nil for the trainee but the BCW Department will pay to the Agency @ Rs. 10900/- + service tax as applicable per trainee.
Batch – 50 trainees/centre in a single batch.  Eligibility Criteria for application:
1. Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
2. He/She must belong to SC or ST Community.
3. His/Her annual family income shall not exceed Rs. 2.0 lakh (Rupees two lakh only).
4. He /She mustbe un employed and 10+2 class passed or above.
5. His / her age should be between 18 to 35 years.
Procedure for Application:
Duly filled in application in the prescribed format, as given below, along with the documents likecopy of mark sheet(s), copy of admit card/ birth certificate, copy of SC/ST certificate from the competent authority, declaration regarding family income by the parent /guardian in  theprescribed format, as given below and 2 copies of passport sized photograph will have to be submitted by the applicants to the office of the Project Officer-cum-District Welfare Officer/District Welfare Officer, Backward Classes Welfare of the concerned District or to the Centre –Manager of the respective training institutes within the last date of application. Last date of Application: 21.05.2012.

Number of candidates to be selected per centre:
50 (fifty) trainees per training centre will be selected and overall ratio of SC and ST will be 11:3 in the State. However, the authority reserves the right to change the ratio upon the availability of suitable candidate and SC, ST population ratio of a particular District.
Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be called for an interview by the District Level Selection Committee headed by one Additional District Magistrate of the concerned District.During interview, the candidates will have to bring all the original documents- copy of which submitted along with the application form. Candidates will be selected by the District Level Selection Committee mainly based on the merit, performance in the interview, economic status etc. of the candidate.
