CM says land bill not favourable

CHAIBASA: Not satisfied with the LandAcquisitionBill recently passed in Parliament, chief minister Hemant Soren said late on Sunday the bill was not favourable for adivasis and moolvasis, particularly those who are living in the mining areas of the state.

Soren said he would apprise the Centre about this and urge them to bring an amendment. “The bill is not in favour of the state… particularly for rivals living in mining areas.

I will discuss the issue with the central leadership to ensure adequate compensation for adivasis and mulvasis,” he said, adding that the state would have its own land acquisition bill to give maximum benefit to the masses.
