RS. 2904 Crore and 71 Lakhs Released to 26 States by Centre for Development of Tribals

Govt. of India has released an amount of Rs.2904 crores and 71 Lakhs to 26 states from April’2010 till August’ 2013 as Grants under Art 275(1) of Constitution of India .

The grant is meant to be utilized for creating different infrastructural facilities such as roads , bridges, water harvesting facilities, providing safe drinking water, including establishment of Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) and their maintenance as well as implementing The Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers Act, 2006 and creating awareness about the Act aiming at the overall development of Scheduled Tribes and bringing them in to the social mainstream.

The highest amount of Rs. 478.45 crore has been released to Madhya Pradesh followed by Odisha (Rs. 337.45 crores ) and Jharkhand (Rs 245.54 crore )
